What type of clothing is required for lessons? During beginner lessons, any long pants can be worn. Once a student has progressed in their riding and is looking for pants designed for riding, there are a lot of options (click here for recommended apparel links). For shirts, more form-fitting shirts/jackets are best as they allow the instructor to more clearly view the rider’s position. During cold weather, layers or tighter-fitting jackets are best.

What type of footwear should be worn? Close-toed, hard-soled shoes are required for lessons for safety. It is best for students to wear boots designed for riding. Beginner paddock boots are fine and are not expensive (click here for recommended apparel links).

Are helmets required? Helmets are required for all lesson students under the age of 18 and are recommended for all riders. The barn has several helmets of various sizes that riders can borrow. If you prefer to bring your own helmet, it must be an ASTM certified equestrian helmet (click here for recommended apparel links).

Where should I park? There are a few parking spots directly across the driveway from the house, near the upper barn. You may also park in front of the lower barn. Remember to drive slowly coming–children and horses may be crossing.

Where can lessons be viewed? The instructor will direct all parents and visitors to the viewing room during lessons. When outdoors, visitors may watch from outside of the fence. Only instructors and students are allowed inside the arenas for safety reasons.

What if I need to cancel? If you are not able to make it to your lesson, text or message Jen. Any lessons cancelled within 24 hours will still be charged, including training appointments.

How do I pay? Lessons may be paid for upon arrival or in advance. Cash, checks, and Venmo are acceptable forms of payment. All checks should be written to Drinkall Performance Horses. Our Venmo address is @Jennifer-Drinkall.
